CHARLESTON TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WOOD) — The Kalamazoo County Sheriff's Office is asking for witnesses to come forward after a woman was hit and killed by semi-truck on I-94 in Kalamazoo County late Tuesday night.
It happened around 11 p.m. on eastbound I-94 in Charleston Township, east of Kalamazoo.
The sheriff's office says 37-year-old Michelle Ann Stratton of Richland was in the roadway when she was struck by the eastbound semi-truck. Stratton died at th scene.
The semi-truck driver, a 59-year-old Farmington Hills man, was not injured.
It’s unclear why Stratton was in the roadway.
Investigators do not believe speed or alcohol were factors in the crash.
