PORTER TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WOOD) — One man was hospitalized after he crashed into a tree in rural Cass County Sunday.
It happened around 1:30 p.m. in M-40 near Spatterdock Lake Street in Porter Township, south of the community of Jones.
The Cass County Sheriff's Office says Randy Riley, 63, was northbound when his vehicle left the road and hit a tree.
He was taken to a hospital in Elkhart, Indiana. His condition was not available later Sunday.
The cause of the crash is still under investigation, but deputies say alcohol does not appear to have been a factor and Riley was wearing his seat belt.
