GEORGETOWN TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WOOD) — It was a home improvement blunder that defied explanation.
“This is something that doesn’t happen too often,” Jody Naimo said from her living room in Jenison.
“It’s an expensive mistake.”
Naimo paid half upfront — $1,295 — on a new custom-made sliding glass door from Window World of West Michigan. That was Nov. 29.
On Feb. 11, the installer called Naimo at work to tell her he would be over in an hour to do the job.
“I said, 'That’s fine. I’m not there,'” Naimo remembered. “So I gave him the code to my keypad to my garage door. I told him I’m going to have two dogs there. I have a black lab and a chocolate lab. They’re very friendly. My mom and dad might be over painting a bedroom, so don’t be startled.”
Two hours later, the installer called Naimo back to report the job was complete.
