Grand Rapids, Mich., Feb. 14, 2019 ─ The main weekend of the Meijer State Games of Michigan — Winter Games begins February 15-17. The sports featured this weekend are: archery, basketball, cross country skiing (nordic and Olympic), disc golf, fatbike, fencing, shooting sports, speed skating, weightlifting, and wrestling. Onsite registration is still available for some main weekend sports.

The main weekend will begin with the opening ceremony hosted by the Grand Rapids Griffins at 7:00 p.m. on Friday February 15. There will be an on-ice Athlete Parade that will take place during the first intermission of the game at Van Andel Arena. The 2018 Athletes of the Year: Isabella Nelson (Youth Female), Adin Fetibegovic (Youth Male), AJ Selig (Adult Female), Robert Malnight (Adult Male); and the 2018 Volunteer of the Year, Jeff DeRegnaucourt will be recognized during the parade.

The Meijer State Games of Michigan held the first sporting events of the Winter Games on Feb. 2, 9, and 10. The four sports featured were: karate, darts, try-athlon, and bowling. The bowling tournament featured 140 participants, maxing out its registration cap.
