Amtrak train headed to GR breaks down Tuesday night

ST. JOSEPH, Mich. (WOOD) — Passengers on the Pere Marquette Amtrak Train 370 were stopped Tuesday night near St. Joseph due to an issue with the engine. 

Amtrak officials confirmed to 24 Hour News 8 the train stopped at approximately 9:42 p.m. Tuesday. The train took off from Chicago’s Union Station with the destination being Grand Rapids. 

The engine was not able to be restarted after multiple attempts. Amtrak ordered bus transportation for the 78 passengers onboard the train.
