GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) — The Calvin and Hope college men's basketball teams will meet for the 200th time Saturday.
The teams' rivalry has spanned 99 years. Hope leads the all-time series 103 games to 96, though Calvin won the teams' 199th contest earlier this month.
"It's pretty cool to be a part of something that's been going on for 200 contests," Calvin coach Kevin VandeStreek said. "That doesn't happen every day in every sport. It's pretty neat. I'm a big history guy, so it's cool to be a part of so many games, so many stories, so many players."
