SPRING LAKE TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WOOD) — A woman was hospitalized with serious injuries Thursday after a snowplow veered into her lane and hit her SUV near Spring Lake.
It happened shortly after 2 p.m. on 148th Avenue near Michael Lane, south of Cleveland Street, in Spring Lake Township.
The Ottawa County Sheriff's Office says that a semi-truck was slowed or stopped in the southbound lanes and snow had obscured its trailer lights. When the driver of a southbound Ottawa County Road Commission plow truck finally saw the semi, he swerved into the northbound lanes to try to avoid a crash.
