ALPINE TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WOOD) — Detectives in Kent County are investigating the death of a Grand Rapids man whose body was found in the driveway of his friend’s Comstock Park home.
The Kent County Sheriff’s Office says 57-year-old Gregory Gietzen planned to visit the friend Saturday night, but never arrived. The friend found him dead in his driveway around 8:30 a.m. Sunday and called authorities.
Authorities are still trying to figure what exactly lead to Gietzen’s death. The results of his autopsy are pending.
Investigators say Gietzen was last seen alive around 8:30 p.m. Saturday at a restaurant near West River Drive and 4 Mile Road in Comstock Park. Detectives believe sometime after that, someone drove him from the restaurant to a home about two miles away, on Bekinshire Drive NW.
Anyone who encountered Geitzen after 8:30 p.m. Saturday is encouraged to contact the sheriff’s office at 616.632.6125.
