GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) — The man charged with murdering and dismembering the body of a Kalamazoo area woman will find out Friday if his case is heading to trial.
Jared Chance is expected in a Grand Rapids courtroom around 9 a.m., where prosecutors will present the evidence against him in the murder of 31-year-old Ashley Young of Oshtemo Township.
Young was last seen alive with Jared Chance around 1:39 a.m. on Nov. 29. He was arrested three days later.
Jared Chance is charged with open murder, three counts of tampering with evidence, mutilation of a dead body and concealing Young’s death. He is also being charged as a habitual offender — his fourth offense.
