SEBEWA TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WOOD) — A homeowner shot and killed an intruder in Ionia County Tuesday night.
It happened around 10:30 p.m. in the 4000 block of East Musgrove Highway in Sebewa Township, east of Lake Odessa.
The Ionia County Sheriff’s Office said a man broke into the house, claiming he was being chased by someone who was trying to kill him.
The homeowner, once arming himself with a firearm, went outside with the man but could not find anyone. When the two went back inside the house, the man reportedly began acting erratically then assaulted the homeowner, according to a sheriff’s office news release.
