KALAMAZOO, Mich. (WOOD) — A secret Santa who footed the bill for about 100 people at a Kalamazoo diner is sharing his reason behind the $800 act of kindness.
Alan Ferreira came forward Wednesday morning, calling 24 Hour News 8 with a message about what it means to give, especially during this time of year.
“Who would do something like this?” Ferreira asked. “Why? It’s because I can, and because I care.”
On Christmas Eve, the now not-so-secret Santa walked into Theo and Stacy’s and gave the servers $800 with instructions: Keep $100 and use the remaining $700 to pay customers’ checks.
The cash lasted several hours and bought about 100 people breakfast at the Westnedge Avenue restaurant.
