Woman swerves to avoid deer; crashes

HOWARD TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WOOD) — Cass County deputies say a woman was taken to the hospital after she swerved to avoid a deer and crashed into a tree.

The crash happened around 5:20 a.m. on M-60, west of Burnlynd Road in Howard Township, east of Niles.

Deputies say a Vandalia woman was driving west on M 60 when she tried swerving to miss the deer, causing her to run off the road and strike a tree.
