OSHTEMO TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WOOD) — The Kalamazoo County Sheriff’s Office confirms a missing woman was last seen traveling to Grand Rapids.
The sheriff’s office said 32-year-old Ashley Regina-Maria Young of Oshtemo Township was reported missing Sunday. She was last seen heading to Grand Rapids Saturday.
Her family told 24 Hour News 8 she was last seen driving a 2006 light gold, four-door Ford Focus. The vehicle has black door handles, which most models are light gold, as well as a dent on the rear driver's side door.
The family was in Grand Rapids Sunday where a body was discovered in the area of Franklin Street and Dolbee Avenue SE. Grand Rapids police have not yet said when the body was found or by whom, nor have they said how the female may have died. They are investigating the death as suspicious.
As of Monday afternoon, the Grand Rapids Police Department has not release any information about the woman's identity.
Her family said Young was last seen with a man who lives in a house police were searching. Authorities have not confirmed her case has any connection to the body.
