GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) — With the help of community donations and volunteers, the Whitecaps Community Foundation warmed hearts and filled hundreds of stomachs this Giving Tuesday.
Jessica Muzevuca with the West Michigan Whitecaps says the Whitecaps Community Foundation has donated just under $1.5 million this year, but much of that giving happens behind the scenes.
“This year, we wanted to make sure that we were out in public and everyone could see that you need to be giving back,” she said.
Tuesday, the Whitecaps Community Foundation visited Grand Rapids’ Heartside Park to serve up lunch and hand out 350 winter survival kits to people in need.
