REYNOLDS TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WOOD) — A driver was arrested following a deadly hit-and-run crash in Montcalm County.
It happened around 10:15 p.m. Tuesday at the intersection of Federal and Yankee roads in Reynolds Township, north of Howard City.
Michigan State Police said the suspect vehicle was heading northbound on Federal Road when it crossed the centerline and struck an oncoming vehicle. The suspect fled the scene, leaving a passenger inside his vehicle.
The southbound driver, 20-year-old Max Clay Szynkowski, was pronounced dead at the scene, according to state police.
The suspect was arrested and lodged at the Montcalm County Jail. State police did not release the suspect's name.
