SOUTH HAVEN, Mich. (WOOD) — Two vigilant boaters from South Haven are credited with saving the life of a man trapped under his watercraft.
South Haven Area Emergency Services says Terry Norman and David Hoyt saw the victim’s inflatable boat traveling in circles at the South Haven Municipal Marina around 5:55 p.m. Monday.
At first, the men thought the boat was remote-controlled. But at closer inspection, they noticed a man’s foot and leg hanging from the side of the watercraft.
SHAES says Hoyt jumped onto the boat and gained control of it, bringing it to the dock where Norman climbed aboard and helped get the victim out of the water.
