Authorities: Parole absconder arrested after chases

EMMETT TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WOOD) — Authorities say they arrested a parole absconder after two car chases and a foot chase in the Battle Creek area Sunday.

Battle Creek police first started chasing the vehicle around 1:50 p.m. in the area of Goodale and Washington avenues, though the Calhoun County Sheriff's Office didn't say in an evening release what sparked the pursuit. Officers eventually gave up the chase; the reason for that decision is also not yet clear.
