Fall colors 2018: What you need to know

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) — Fall is around the corner with natives and visitors alike starting to plan their color tours across Michigan.

Weather conditions can impact how spectacular a show will be. While it is still too early to tell exactly how the year will shake out, we do have some early indicators saying we may lean towards a later display than usual.

Temperatures for the fall season have a good chance of leaning warmer than usual, which could slow things down a bit. Excessive rain in some spots lately could help reduce leaf drop, meaning the displays would last longer.
