Power outages blamed on storm's strong winds

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) — A large storm system moved through West Michigan Sunday night, leaving power outages in its wake.

The culprit was powerful winds, which ripped down tree limbs and snapped power lines. A 66 mph gust was recorded at Muskegon, a 55 mph gust at Grand Haven and 53 mph south of Fremont, Storm Team 8 says.
