ST. JOSEPH, Mich. (WOOD) — A Berrien County woman has tested positive for West Nile virus, which is the first confirmed human case of the virus in Michigan this year.
The Berrien County Health Department said it’s the first human case of the virus in the county this year. The case involves an adult woman who became ill in late July. It’s unclear if the woman was hospitalized.
No other human cases have been reported by state health officials, making the Berrien County case the first confirmed in Michigan this year.
