ALLEGAN, Mich. (WOOD) — Deputies with the Allegan County Sheriff’s Office are going to start carrying overdose-reversing drug naloxone.
The department will have enough units of the drug to equip the entire patrol, detective and administrative divisions, which were obtained through a grant from Kaleo Pharmaceuticals.
Those who will be carrying the drug were trained by The Grand Rapids Red Project, a non-profit organization that works to prevent overdoses and HIV.
Three nurses with the Allegan County Health Department received instruction to become trainers to “facilitate on-going training needs.”
