Red Wings sign Larkin to 5-year contract extension

DETROIT (WOOD) — The Red Wings have signed forward Dylan Larkin to a five-year contract extension, the team announced Friday.

The 22-year-old native of Waterford, Mich. was drafted 15th overall in 2014. According to reports from The Athletic, the contract is worth $6.1 million annually.

The former product of the University of Michigan hockey program posted a career season in 2017 to 2018 with 63 points, including 16 goals and 47 assists, in 82 games.

The five-year term will carry Larkin throughout the remainder of his restricted free-agent years, meaning at the end of the deal, the centerman will be an unrestricted free agent.
