GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) — Vice President Mike Pence will be in downtown Grand Rapids for the Michigan Republican Party’s Unity Rally Wednesday.
The rally is now scheduled to start at 6:00 p.m. at the DeVos Place, at 303 Monroe Avenue NW. It comes a day after the Aug. 7 primary and will feature Michigan’s candidates for governor and U.S. Senate.
Schuette won the Republican primary for governor Tuesday night. He will face Democratic nominee Gretchen Whitmer, a former state senator.
Former combat pilot John James, who won the Republican primary for the U.S. Senate, will face incumbent Democrat Sen. Debbie Stabenow.
The goal of the rally Pence is speaking at is to bring together Republicans who may have voted for candidates that lost in the primary.
