Police seek man who robbed Sturgis bank

STURGIS, Mich. (WOOD) — Police are asking for the public's help to find the man who held up a Sturgis bank Wednesday morning.

It happened at the Sturgis Bank and Trust on S. Centerville Road at W. South Street around 10:30 a.m. The Sturgis Police Department said a man showed an apparent weapon and made off with an undisclosed amount of cash.

The robber was described as a black man standing about 5-foot-7 with a thin build. He was wearing baggy blue jeans and a baggy black hooded sweatshirt with a large design on the back. He was also wearing a blue bandana over his face and dark sunglasses, and had the hood of the sweatshirt up.

He's believed to be in a gold or tan early 2000s four-door sedan, possibly a GM make, which was last seen headed south on S. Centerville Road.
