WYOMING, Mich. (WOOD) -- A wrong-way driver smashed into a police cruiser head-on early Friday morning before being arrested.
Kent County dispatchers told 24 Hour News 8 the vehicle was first spotted going south in the northbound lanes of US-131 in the city of Grand Rapids. The first report came in just before 2 a.m.
An MDOT camera at US-131 and 54th Street captured video of a Wyoming Police officer attempting to block the lanes to stop the wrong-way driver. Instead, the vehicle smashed into the cruiser – sending sparks flying.
