Protest over ICE contract expected during commission meeting

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) — A second demonstration protesting Kent County's contract with the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement is expected to take place during Thursday's commission meeting.

Movimiento Cosecha GR and GR Rapids Response to ICE said they are planning a second demonstration inside the Kent County Commission chambers to demand an end to the county’s contract with ICE.

More than 300 people are interested in participating in Thursday’s protest, according to an event posted on Facebook.
