GRFC women lose in high-scoring national semifinal

GRANDVILLE, Mich. (WOOD) — The Grand Rapids FC women won’t be repeating as national champions after a loss to the Inferno Rush Saturday night.

After a high-scoring first half with three goals from both teams, the Rush scored the only goal in the remaining time and came away with a 4-3 victory.

GRFC started the scoring on a goal by Cindy Lay after Inferno’s goalkeeper dropped a cross and couldn’t recover in time to prevent the score.
