Kayaker pulled from Lake Michigan in Grand Haven

GRAND HAVEN, Mich. (WOOD) — A kayaker is back on land after being pulled from Lake Michigan.

It happened around 11 a.m. Friday near Grand Haven’s North Pier.

Ottawa County dispatch tells 24 Hour News 8 the kayaker fell out of his watercraft and into the water. He was hanging onto the kayak with his head above water when rescuers arrived.

The kayaker was loaded onto a Coast Guard boat and taken back to the Coast Guard's station, where he was checked out and released. The Coast Guard said the kayaker was fatigued, but did not need emergency medical attention.
