CASCADE TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WOOD) — A 25-year-old woman was killed in a two-vehicle rollover crash near the Gerald R. Ford International Airport Wednesday morning.
It happened shortly before 6 a.m. near the intersection of 52nd Street and Patterson Avenue in Cascade Township.

The sheriff's office said a Chevy Cruze was turning left onto 52nd Street from southbound Patterson Avenue when the driver struck a northbound Chevy Blazer.
The crash caused the Blazer to roll over, pinning the driver underneath the vehicle. Authorities were able to free the woman and take her to the hospital, where she later died.
The sheriff's office identified the woman as 25-year-old Katherine Elizabeth Mead of Grand Rapids. Authorities said she was not wearing a seat belt.
A 28-year-old man who was a passenger in the Blazer and the 33-year-old driver of the Cruze received minor injuries.
Deputies on scene said the investigation is focused on the speed of the northbound vehicle. The crash remains under investigation.
The northbound lanes of Patterson Avenue and westbound 52nd Street were closed for several hours as crews worked to clear the scene and investigate the crash.
