GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) — The Grand Rapids City Commission had laid out a timeline for its second attempt to find a new city manager.
A subcommittee is reviewing applications and will recommend finalists to the full commission July 24.
A community forum with those finalists will be held the following week on July 30 at the Grand Rapids Public Library.
The commission will interview the finalists the following day at City Hall. If necessary, a second round of interviews will be held Aug. 7. All interviews will stream live on the city's Facebook and YouTubepages, as well as on the Grand Rapids Information Network on Comcast Channel 26.
The commission is aiming to have a new city manager on the job by early September.
Earlier this year, the city's first search for a replacement for retired City Manager Greg Sundstrom ended with the commission deciding not to hire any of the three finalists.
