US Senate subpoenas ex-MSU President Simon

TRAVERSE CITY, Mich. (WOOD) — Former Michigan State University President Lou Anna Simon is being forced to testify before the U.S. Senate about the Larry Nassar scandal.

On Wednesday, U.S. marshals served her a subpoena at her vacation condo in Traverse City, The New York Times reported.

The ex-university leader had originally volunteered to answer lawmakers' questions in May, but the hearing got pushed back. Her attorney Mayer Morganroth says she will now have to interrupt her vacation to travel to Washington, D.C. Morganroth told the Detroit Free Press that he thought the subpoena was "silly."
