GRAND HAVEN, Mich. (WOOD) — Police are investigating an alleged threat to attack a Grand Haven middle school.
On Wednesday, dispatchers received a tip regarding a threat involving Lakeshore Middle School in Grand Haven from a parent.
Authorities said four students four students at the school had discussed an attack using firearms against students and staff. Authorities said the alleged plan was to occur Thursday.
After conducting interviews and searches, investigators determined the students didn’t have access to any weapons and wouldn’t have been able to carry out an attack.
School officials were immediately notified and classes on Thursday weren't canceled.
The case will be reviewed by the Ottawa County prosecutor for possible criminal charges once the investigation is completed.
