GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) — The second-annual Cider Week in Grand Rapids has officially kicked off.
The event includes tap takeovers, cider and food pairings at local restaurants and breweries, cider tours, the world's largest cider judging competition, the Gillett Bridge Festival and more. The goal is to highlight West Michigan's award-winning cideries.
"A lot of cideries around the area will do a special release for the week or they'll brew something specifically for cider week as a whole so you can try a lot of really fun unique items that don’t typically make their way to the tap handles all the time," said Paige Stevens, the special events coordinator at Vander Mill. "It's pretty cool to see the community come together and support such a growing industry."
