KALAMAZOO, Mich. (WOOD) — Two boys are in custody after allegedly breaking into a Kalamazoo business to joyride on forklifts.
An alarm inside the business alerted officers to the break-in, which happened around 9:09 p.m. on Sunday in the 2000 block of E. Michigan Avenue.
Public safety officers checking the outside of the building spotted the boys recklessly driving the forklifts inside. One of the suspects was caught as he tried to leave the building through a roll-up door. Officers tracked down the second suspect a short time later.
Both boys are in a juvenile home on charges of breaking and entering and malicious destruction of private property.
