GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) — A West Michigan woman who marked this Mother's Day with the birth of her second child said her family is "thankful and blessed."
Just after 5 a.m. Sunday at Spectrum Health Butterworth Hospital, Andrea Cook brought Asher Gabriel into the world.
"(It went) really smooth. The staff here is actually really wonderful we had a very safe, smooth delivery. Couldn't have asked for a better (outcome)," Andrea Cook told 24 Hour News 8 later Sunday as she rested in her hospital bed.
She and her husband Nathan Cook hadn't expected the baby to come on Mother's Day, but said it was a nice gift.
"It's cool. It's the best Mother's Day present I probably could have gotten her," Asher's father joked.
The Cooks also have a 2-year-old son named Oliver.
