Grand Rapids, Michigan (WOOD) -- An 8-year-old is dead after getting hit by a car on the West Side of Grand Rapids.
Police say it happened on Bridge Street NW, just east of US-131 around 9:15 p.m on Tuesday.
It is not clear what led up to the crash, and police have yet to publicly identify the child.
Crews have shut down Bridge Street between Monroe and Scribner Avenues as emergency responders tend to the scene.
