GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) — Hundreds are marching toward downtown Grand Rapids Tuesday to demand reform of immigration laws.
The march started at Roosevelt Park on Grandville Avenue SW near Clyde Park Avenue and is making its way to Grand Rapids City Hall on Monroe Avenue SW.
One of the march’s directives is for driver’s licenses to be available to all people, specifically undocumented immigrants.
The Grand Rapids Police Department has officers positioned along the expected route of the march, which is expected to cause traffic backups and delays around the Grandville Avenue corridor.
It was organized by Movimiento Cosecha, which works to protect undocumented immigrants the in the U.S.
