CASCO TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WOOD) — One of two men arrested for a shooting that seriously injured a woman in Allegan County is charged with using a weapon under the influence, causing serious impairment.
That charge is one of six firearm felonies John Allen Redaway is facing in connection to the Tuesday afternoon shooting, which happened in the 6700 block of 103rd Avenue in Casco Township, northeast of South Haven.
Allegan County sheriff’s deputies found a wounded woman at the scene. She was taken to the hospital with serious injuries. Investigators say the victim’s injuries have prevented her from making a statement about the crime, which is still under investigation.
Redaway is also charged with felony possession of a short-barreled shotgun or rifle and three counts of felony firearm. He’s being charged as a habitual offender.
Allan Craig Troeger Jr, 26, is facing three felonies in connection to the shooting, including possession of a firearm by a felon and felony possession of a short-barreled shotgun. He’s also being charged as a habitual offender.
It’s unclear if either man is the person who was taken into custody shortly after the shooting.
Authorities are withholding the victim’s name.
