GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) — The second phase of road changes in downtown Grand Rapids for a $140 million development in the city’s Arena District will begin Monday.
Cherry Street SW between Grandville Avenue and the US-131 ramps will close for roughly three weeks starting on March 19. The road is scheduled to reopen on Monday, April 9.
Eastbound drivers will find posted detours to Grandville Avenue to Oakes Street to Ionia Avenue. Westbound traffic will be advised to take Ionia Avenue to Oakes Street to Grandville Avenue. Access to US-131 from Cherry Street will remain open during this phase.
