GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) — Rickman Avenue NE in Grand Rapids is back open to traffic after a water main break that left some people without water Tuesday night.
It happened around 9:30 p.m. near the intersection of Plainfield Avenue and Rickman Avenue NE, near Fuller Avenue.
Police set up barricades on Rickman Avenue NE because the extremely low temperatures were expected to freeze the water, posing a hazard.
City officials said service was restored to customers around 3 a.m. Wednesday. The break was repaired and the street was patched around 6:30 a.m.
