GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) — Travels will be hazardous early Tuesday as lake-effect snow combines with wind to reduce visibility on roads.
Lake-effect snow is expected to continue Today through Wednesday with a system snow arriving during the day Thursday.
Christmas day’s record setting snow of seven inches in Grand Rapids (tied previous record set in 1990) has produced slippery roads area wide. The wind has let up a bit so blowing snow will not be as much of an issue as it was Monday. Lake-effect snow is being generated by some of the coldest air we’ve had in nearly a year. Snow showers will be lighter today with an additional 1-3″ expected along and west of US-131 today.
