MUSKEGON HEIGHTS, Mich. (WOOD) — Police are investigating a fatal shooting that happened Thursday in Muskegon Heights.
Both Muskegon Heights police and Michigan State Police were at a roped-off crime scene in the area of Jefferson St. and W. Maplewood Ave. Thursday night.
Muskegon Heights Police Chief Joseph Thomas Jr. confirmed to 24 Hour News 8 that there was a shooting, but would not elaborate with details. However, a 24 Hour News 8 crew witnessed a medical examiner removing a body from a home at the scene.
Friday, investigators told 24 Hour News 8 that the shooting was not random and authorities are searching for two persons of interests.
Just before 11:30 p.m., the scene of the shooting had cleared.
