BELDING, Mich. (WOOD) — A boil water advisory for the city of Belding was lifted a day earlier than expected.
Director of Public Works Ernie Thomas told 24 Hour News 8 early Sunday evening that the city was in the process of notifying residents they could stop boiling their water before using it.
A post on the city’s Facebook page said test results had confirmed the water was safe to drink.
The advisory was issued Friday after traces of E. coli bacteria were found in the water system and was initially expected to last through Monday.
It was not immediately clear what caused the problem.
