New C.O.O. Named At Spectrum Health

A Spectrum Health executive with the hospital system since 2002 has been appointed to a new system-wide leadership position.

Tina Freese-Decker was announced as executive vice president and  chief operating officer of Spectrum Health in a Friday, April 14, press  release.

The new position places her over strategy and operations for the  organization as a whole, including Spectrum Health Hospital Group,  Spectrum Health Medical Group, Human Resources and Information Services.

Richard C. Breon, president and CEO of Spectrum Health, explained the reason for the new position.

"Our goal is to align leadership and operations to better meet the  challenges and opportunities we are experiencing as an industry," Breon  said. "As we grow and evolve as a health system, we continue to look at  our leadership structure to ensure it best supports our efforts to bring  high-value, high-quality health care to our patients and health plan  members."

Freese-Decker has served as president for Spectrum Health Hospital Group since July 2014.

The health system, which also includes the 795,000-member Priority  Health health insurance plan provider, is the community's largest  employer with 25,400 employees.
