GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) — A second round of storms could roll into West Michigan during the late afternoon or early evening hours on Monday.
Storms rumbled into the area early Monday morning with some producing severe hail up to the size of a golf ball.
More storms are in the forecast for late Monday afternoon and into the evening as a cold front sweeps through lower Michigan. That front could produce more widespread severe weather while bringing much cooler air Tuesday.
West Michigan is in the slight risk area for severe weather Monday. Chief Meteorologist Bill Steffen says hail and damaging winds will be the primary threats, but he cannot rule out a random tornado.
In a Monday morning news release, Consumers Energy said it was preparing for possible power outages, since the system could pack wind gusts topping 60 mph.Full story from 24 Hour News 8
