The First Motorcycle Caucus Makes it to D.C. Thanks to Michigan Senator

Gary Peters, one of Michigan's two Democratic U.S. Senators, and U.S. Sen. Joni Ernst, R-Iowa, announced the creation of a motorcycle caucus Tuesday. They plan to serve as the caucus co-chairs.

The caucus will advocate for issues on behalf of motorcycle riders and manufacturers, according to a news release.

Peters, D-Bloomfield Twp., has been a lifelong fan of taking to the roads on his motorcycle and has continued to do so throughout his political career. Peters owns a Harley-Davidson Dyna Super Glide and an 1100GS BMW, according to his office.

When running for his Senate seat in 2013, he said riding motorcycles helped him get away from the pressures of the campaign trail.
