LIMA TOWNSHIP, Mich. (AP) — A southeastern Michigan woman accused of having a sexual relationship with a 14-year-old boy is headed to trial.
Thirty-eight-year-old Brooke L. Lajiness is scheduled for a May 8 pretrial hearing before a Washtenaw County judge. The married Chelsea-area woman faces 13 counts of third-degree criminal sexual conduct.
Her attorney, David I. Goldstein, told a judge Thursday that Lajiness was waiving her probable cause hearing and her right to a preliminary examination.
Lajiness remains free on bond.
MLive.com reports a Michigan State trooper testified on March 3 that Lajiness had confessed to having sex with the 14-year-old between eight and 15 times in her car and exchanging nude pictures with him over the internet.
Their relationship allegedly began last summer when the teen was between middle school and high school.
