At least six rallies protesting the repeal of the Affordable Care Act are scheduled in Michigan Saturday as part of a nationwide push throughout the U.S.
The idea came from U.S. Sen. Bernie Sanders and Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer, who sent a joint letter earlier this month calling for Saturday rallies nationwide to oppose Republican efforts to repeal the Affordable Care Act.
In Michigan, rallies are scheduled at varying times of the day in Brighton, Jackson, Lansing, Monroe, Muskegon and Traverse City. At a January rally in Warren, Schumer described Michigan as "ground zero" in the healthcare fight.
The rallies come as President Donald Trump and Congressional Republicans continue to push for a repeal and replace of the the Affordable Care Act.
