Power outage closes some Ottawa County government offices

WEST OLIVE, Mich. -- Ottawa County officials notified the public late Thursday morning of a power outage impacting some government buildings.

It sent a news release at 11:10 a.m. saying the Ottawa County Administration Building was closed due to the outage. That affected the ability to serve customers. It included the Sheriff's headquarters, County Clerk-Register of Deeds, Treasurer, and other departments.

The power outage did not affect the Family Justice Center. Other County facility locations, such as Holland, Grand Haven, and Hudsonville, were operating and providing services and hearings as scheduled. Officials said they expected power to be restored by early Thursday afternoon.

There was no word at the time of publication on what caused the outage.
