Celebration Cinema launching classic 'Canned Film Series' on Sept. 18

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. -- Celebration Cinema has announced a "Canned Film Series" in conjunction with Long Road Distillers that will begin on September 18 at select movie venues in Grand Rapids, Muskegon and elsewhere around the state.

It coincides with the launch of Long Road Distillers' new canned cocktails. Craft cocktail pairings will be served during the showing of classic movies. The pairings include:

9.18Bridesmaids  I  Lavender Lemonade

9.25 Dumb & Dumber  I  Michigin & Soda

10.2 Casablanca  I  Rosemary Gin Fizz

10.9 Harry Potter & The Prisoner of Azkaban  I The Polish Falcon

10.16 Jaws  I  Lake & Valley Lemonade

10.23 Dirty Dancing  I  Nitro Espresso Martini

10.30 IT  I  Scandinavian Daiquiri

11.6 Planes, Trains, & Automobiles I  Cranberry Fizz

In West Michigan, the eight-week series will be at Celebration North and Studio Park in Grand Rapids, and Cinema Carousel in Muskegon. The admission price is $6, with tickets available at the theatre or in advance at celebrationcinema.com. The shows begin at 8 p.m.

IDs will be required for purchase of beverages, according to a news release from Studio C.

The series will be presented in all Celebration Cinema markets (Grand Rapids, Okemos, Muskegon, Portage, Mount Pleasant and Benton Harbor), but not at all theatre locations.

It’s all about celebrating community, creativity, and great taste.”   Attendees will enjoy beloved classic movies coupled with cocktails, featuring a holiday movie with Cranberry Fizz, a Michigan favorite actor with Michigin & Soda and other playful pairings. Beverages will be for sale in the auditorium (ID required) and guests will enjoy raffles of series and movie-themed treasures.
